[Singapore] – January 24, 2025 — bbase Design Group continues our mission to inspire and nurture the next generation of design talent. In partnership with La Salle Singapore’s College of Arts, we guided students to foster innovation through the lens of eyewear design and sustainability.
This year, utilizing Eastman’s innovative materials, students explored concepts of cultural heritage, diaspora and environmental responsibility. The program challenged participants to create eyewear that reflected their individual perspectives.
Guided by the expertise of the bbase team, the students’ creations led to a diverse array of designs which were finished and produced by bbase.
Each design reflects a powerful narrative—whether it’s honoring forgotten cultural traditions, or promoting innovative solutions such as “zero-waste modular splicing” . These designs are a testament to the limitless potential of young talent when given the tools to merge creativity with purpose.
These pieces can now be seen in Cross Pollination: Fashion Diasporas at Gallery 1, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore until March 8, 2025.
Opening hours: 12:00pm – 7:00pm, Mon–Sat (closed on Sunday, public holidays and during College closures)
Since 2021, bbase Design Group has partnered with educational institutions globally to deliver workshops on sustainable eyewear design. The 2025 incubbase program is yet another milestone in bbase’s mission to combine responsibility with creativity, empowering the next generation to design inclusively and for the planet.
